I found this idea on Just Me
I was so excited because I knew just where to get a baby crib springy thing, and
I have this HUGE space on the wall heading up to my upstairs.
I knew it would be perfect there
However, I was crushed to find out that my
mother-in-law got rid of the baby crib that was in her basement.
Took it to the dump..The DUMP? Seriously?
It was awesome. Smaller than the average crib and painted
an awful yellow, but super cute and an heirloom that slept many
people in Steve's family. She probably got sick of storing it, and for that I don't blame her.
I do know however, that if she would've known
I wanted it, it would have totally came to my house..
I'm not normally a saver,
Not in things that have no sentimental meaning-
but pictures, dishes, blankets-
I once dug through the garbage{in the rain}
to rescue old quilts that were thrown
away after cleaning out Grandma's attic..
those things are worth hanging onto.
They have feeling, history and I treasure each item that I have.
At our house we have many heirlooms from Steve's family that are
very dear to my heart. I have 4 old quilts that were hand stitched and absolutely
beautiful(rescued from the trash).
I have an old rocking chair that belonged to Steve's great-grandfather
(his name was Daniel also) and a few other odds and ends.
Dear Mother-in-Law: Remember, we don't get rid of things without talking to
Heather first. Haven't we learned this throughout the years?????
So now i'm on a hunt for a baby crib springy thing..
Won't this be great for sharing kids artwork? Scrapbook pages? fave photos?
I'll have to head to The SmokeStack in Frankfort this weekend to see
what I can find there...
