Well, my son has officially graduated from a big wheel onto bigger and better things.
A while back he informed us he needed a bike with "little wheels"on it(meaning training wheels). His bike was for babies and he was no longer a baby. So..since the snow was still on the ground, we explained to him that he needed to wait until it was gone.
We've put him off for a while because we weren't sure he was ready. Today he and I were at Wal-mart and he again asked for a bike...I said the usual "lets get it later"...Daniel goes" Mommy, its NEVER later.." OK..my 3 year old has a point. we did promise and need to keep up on our promise. Off to the bike aisle we went, There we tried every bike out for size, rode them all up and down the row and then eventually decided on this particular one.
Then..we were off to the helmet row. You'd be amazed at how many helmets they have for little kids. First he wanted the pink and purple princess helmet, but I had to explain to him that Daddy would probably not be as excited about it as he was!! He decided that the turtle one would be "cool".
Here are pics of our first bike-riding adventure. With the lack of sidewalks and concrete at our home, we had to trek down to the church on the corner to ride for the first time.
He's not completely convinced he likes it. He will sit on it and pedal a little, but is very cautious. I'm sure after a while, i'll have to pry him off it. But for now, we just sit on it(with our helmet, knee pads and elbow gaurds) waiting for him to actually pedal around the parking lot!!!
