Saturday

We are on day 5 of our vacation and I think
Daniels just about ready to head home!
Woke up this morning early to a blanket
of snow over Grandma and Grandpas yard.
It snowed for most of the morning, now its
sunny and about 40.
Grandpa is doing well, he's still on oxygen and
doesn't trust his lungs to go outside. But, he's
in good spirits and loves to have dinner with us
every night. He loves home cooking, which is
so bad for me! Fried chicken, fried potatoes,
Chocolate milkshakes and doughnuts. I think I've
gained 20lbs since I've been here!
Hes definitely from the south!
Grandma will be home tomorrow around 3ish so
we'll get to spend some time with her before
we hit the road bright and early Monday morning
to head to Chicago. We'll be there until Wens morning,
when Daniel gets to visit the fire station.
He is EXTREMLY excited!!
The last couple days have been pretty laid back.
Daniel learned how to play CandyLand, however
doesn't really love playing by the rules! We'll continue
to work on that..
We've played with our new LeapFrog book and ate way
to much chocolate! We've heard stories from
our Great-Papa and learned what we can
and can't touch at Nana's house!
We've played motorcycles and trucks, watched
movies and colored pictures. Finger painted, played
PlayDoh and watched LOTS of movies..
I'm running out of things to do with him
The little town we are in is called Sullivan.
Its a very small town that doesn't have many
activities for kids. The highlight of our day is
the daily trip to Wal-Mart, where we've gone
everyday to ride the horse and the school bus.
Yep, sounds like fun-doesn't it? Hehe...
I do have to say Daniel has been a trooper.

Its been a fun trip even though the town is small.
My Mom lived in this town as a little girl so its been
fun to drive around checking out where she went to
Elementary school, her childhood home, where her
Grandparents used to live and listening to her childhood
memories. Daniel's loved spending time with her also,
"Nernie"(my mother) and Daniel have been big playdoh
friends, both of them loving to play playdoh. They've read
stories together, watched movies, played firetrucks on the
floor in the dining room, and sharing snacks. He is
a lucky little boy..
Tonight we're going to make mini-pizzas where Daniel gets
to decorate his own pizza and put whatever he wants on it.
Then we'll curl up with a great movie and spend some quiet
time together.
I asked Daniel what he missed about home and he said
I miss my Daddy, Mia, Jen and the girls and my big boy
bed. I agree with Daniel, while its nice to travel- I can't wait to
get back to my own bed too!!!(however, Im in love with
high speed Internet!!!)
We miss you Daddy-you've spoiled mommy with never
making her get up early! We miss your bedtime stories
and hugs and kisses and cooking us pancakes on the weekends
and cuddles and playing tractors.
We can't wait to get home to see you!!
