The Soundtrack Of Your Life....

Ever hear a song at the start of your day and
have it follow you for the rest of that day?
That happens to me all the time. I'll hear
a song, sing along with it on the radio and then
find myself humming that song, tapping my feet
to the tune of it, and sometimes singing it solo
in my car really really loud(Daniel often tells
me to stop singing at that point!!:) for the rest
of the day.

Music is huge to me. I love it all. I think I always
have, even at birth. Ever since I could remember
my Dad has had a guitar in his hand singing us songs.
When I was little, it was songs like "Jesus Loves Me"
and "El Shaddai". I remember falling asleep
up in my room with my 2 sisters and Dad at the bottom
of the stairs playing his guitar and singing us to sleep.
We didn't have much money growing up. But, we always
had great music. We used to sing songs together in the
living room after dinner. When my friends would visit,
I would often BEG my Dad to get out the guitar and
sing with us. I was so proud to show him off.

My Dad never made a CD, you'll never find his record anywhere
and you certainly won't see a music video. Actually, if you leave
the State of Michigan, not many people have heard of him..
But to me...he was the best. I was always his biggest fan,
And to this day- I still am..

Both of my parents gave me their love for music. With
Dad it was with his guitar and with Mom it was records and the radio.
We always had the radio going. Always singing LOUD, always
dancing.. Music always had a space in our family.
I never went through that faze as a teenager where my parents
didn't like my music. I always liked theirs. "Borrowing" their CD's
and not returning them:) Asking them to "turn it down.."
To this day, some of my favorites were songs that we listened
to when I was younger. And, to this day, i'll still belt them out
loud as I can and sing along! Some people laugh at my choices
of music. I feel they express me, sometimes they bring back
memories and sometimes they just let me escape to another
place! Some songs can bring tears to my eyes. Others can make me laugh,
bring back funny stories and give me enough energy to keep me going for hours!
It depends on the songs.
Here is my playlist- or the soundtrack to my life.

1. El Shaddia(Amy Grant)-
This is the first song I remember my Dad teaching me.
Big words for a 2 yr old(I think I was almost 3 at the time)
But I knew the words and can remember singing right
along side of Dad.
2. Keeper of the Stars- Tracey Bird
The song my husband and I danced to for our first dance.
Will always be one of my fave's And he picked it!!!!!
3. You are my sunshine
I have sung this song to my son since the day I found out
I was pregnant with him. As a family we all sing this every night
before we do our "group kiss" I don't believe there has been
many nights he's gone to bed without hearing this song.
4. I can only Imagine- Mercy Me
Speaks of how I think I'll feel the day
I come face to face with our savior.
5. Something in the Way she moves- James Taylor
I danced with my Dad at my wedding to this song.
I love that he picked this song. Its not your ordinary
father-daughter song. I love it. I love you Dad..
6. Old Time Rock and Roll-Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band
Mom..this is for you.
Listening to this song REALLY loud in a truck
when "god" told me he was sure I could drive..(hehe)
7. Who am I- Casting Crowns
A friend of mine introduced this song
to me and i've falled in love with it!

I'd love to see the sountrack to your life!!!
Make sure you include why those songs
are special to you. Its fun to bring back those
memories!!!
Don't hold back..write tons if you need to!
