Every Dog Needs a Boy

Most of the time-the saying is
"Every boy needs a dog"
Well, in our house, its the other way around.
Daniel LOVES his little dog.
We are dog people, but normally big manly dogs.
However- this March we were introduced to Mia.
She belonged to my step-dad's mother and
it just wasnt working out with her. I have to be honest,
I was a bit hesitant..are little dogs mean? Would Daniel be scared if she jumped?(our other 2 dogs are lugs)
Will she bite at him?
Would he play to hard with her?
Mia needed a home she could run in and play.
This is proof that this dog just needed a little boy...
From the first night we brough little Mia home its been love at first sight.
They play trucks(although most of the time Mia chews on them),
chase each other around the house, and
you can often find them watching"Cars"
together cuddled up on the couch.
They really do love each other.
This little dog has helped Daniel learn responsibility also.
He helps feed her, makes sure she always has water in
her dish. Plays ball with her outside for excercise and
even feeds her her favorite treat-Mini Nilla Waffers!
(it makes her breath MUCH better!!!)
Whenever shes naughty and gets in trouble,
Daniel comes running around the corner
and he'll ask "what are you yelling at my dog for?"
and then after I tell him she's been naughty, he'll tell me
"its ok Mommy, shes very very sorry..."(even when she
chewed Mommy's brand new shoes...)
Now she doesn't chew, she loves to eat treats,
rides in a backpack during our "walks" and
sleeps in her kennel upstairs with Daniel.
We are so lucky our little boy has this adorable
little dog.
Seeing you with your dog always makes me remember
my families first dog. His name was "Rocky"
I know that somewhere my brother, sisters,
Mom and Dad are reading this and everyone's heart melts at Rocky's name.
We all LOVED Rocky.
He was a HUGE dog, collie, lab, shepherd and probably
a few others. My brother used to jump off of the couch and land
on him and the only thing the dog would do is go "Ugghh"
He played house with us, caught balls in the back yard, followed
us all over the neighborhood and was everyones best friend.
Our memories of that dog will never go away, he was a
great part of our family!

A special congratulations out to my cousin Kadi
who welcomed sweet little baby boy-Brady!
What a blessing he will be to our entire family!!
Congrats to Kadi, Pam, Craig and Jeremy for their new little bundle of joy!!!
