Thursday.

A friend of mine posted a blog a while back titled "parenting isn't for wimps".
She wasn't kidding.
It's hard. Really hard.
Hard when it's your own children,
even harder when the children have been raised by someone other than you.
We've had a rough week.
There are some serious issues we're dealing with in this house
and sometimes I'm unsure if I am the right person for the job.
It will get better. It has to get better.
Until then? It's tough. and heartbreaking.
and crazy
and exhausting.
and discouraging.
This weekend we are heading to Midland to spend some much needed
time with family. People who are on our side.
We are in need.
Need of some time spent at "home".
Good food, good family and some good sleep!!!!
have a great weekend. Should be a beautiful one!
Welcome fall, we are so glad you're here!!!

Hang in there sweetie!!! Don't get discouraged, things can be REALLY crazy at times, but just think of all the wonderful things that you are providing these children with!!

Hubby and I went to see a speaker that really helped us through the hard times, her name is Jeanie Fowler. She was raised in homes, and she showed us a scenario where she took a styrafoam cup and poked holes into with a pencil. She explained to us that's how she was, so the things that people expected of her or things she didn't understand could never be fixed until those holes were filled. At the time we saw her speak, we were dealing with a couple of pretty rough kids. I poked some holes in a cup and set it in my kitchen and I swear it helped. Whenever I was having a hard time, I just looked at the cup.

If you ever get a chance to hear her speak, I would highly recommend it!! She also wrote a book, called Peter's Lullaby. It's a heartbreaking read, but it is very good!!!!

Have a great weeeknd!!!
