Happy Monday!!!

Our weekend here was VERY laid back. We cleaned all day Sat, you know the kind of cleaning where you pull out the fridge and the stove to scrub the floors and the walls(ICK!)
Laundry, cupboards and floors. By the time we headed for bed I believe we were asleep before our heads hit the pillow!!! Sunday we decided to stay home in our pj's all day. A few movies, a few games of Uno Attack(which by the way, my son is MASTERING) and another few games of Go Fish. Nice relaxing weekend. Nothing big to do and no reason to leave the house. PERFECT!
Today, Daniel and I have already finished up our cleaning, Daniel is playing in the toy room and i'm ready to break out some of my scrapping items and create a few fun layouts!!!

Last week I said to check back here Monday to see what i'm up to....here it is!

3yrs ago, my aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was heart broken. This woman had a hand in raising me. My 2nd Mother. You hear about breast cancer all the time and always pray it never hits your family. When it hit my aunt and she was going through her treatment, I felt helpless. I felt that other than prayer and support, there really wasn't much I could do for her. It was the worse feeling in the world.

Last year, another Aunt of mine made the decision to do the 3 day breast cancer walk in her honor. 60 miles in 3 days. AMAZING. Last week, I found out the walk is being held in Detroit the weekend of Sept 26-29th. I was instantly ready to go for it. I've done some research and at first I have to admit I was a bit intimidated about the length of the walk and the amount I have to raise, however, I believe that I can achieve that goal. I'm actually hoping to soar past the minimum amount I need to raise! I feel this is something I CAN do. This is my way to be helpful, to do something to fight this awful disease that hits so many women everyday. This is my way to help all of the women who are battling cancer or who have survived cancer, that CAN'T walk. I'm walking for my friends, sisters, nieces, mothers, grandmothers, and aunts that could be affected by Breast Cancer. This is a pretty powerful walk from what i've heard. Over the course of the 60 miles you see a lot of women on the sidewalks cheering you on, some are bald, some have no breasts and all of them are saying thank you for walking because they can not walk. I've began training(even though the weather doesn't really want to cooperate with me so much!) my treadmill will be here within the week so I can train inside a little until the weather does clear up. I'm inspired and I believe nothing can slow me down.
60 miles in 3 days is ALOT!
