Recap from our visit..

We had a great time with my best friend and her 2 girls this week. It seems like we never have enough time together, but thats what you get when you are 18 hours away from each other. We had a nice dinner Monday night and then Tuesday, we met in Cadillac for some fun!

After our lunch of G&D's pizza at the fountain(left my camera in the car..so the kids could enjoy!)we trekked off to the Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing Center located in the Mitchell State Park. We have lived here forever and had never been inside this building before(and it's FREE!)

This giant building is a seriously awesome place. Life sized Elk, Deer, Bear, Turkeys, Beavers, Ducks... it houses all sorts of Michigan animals. The kids had a great time watching the fish swim around in the aquarium(all from Michigan) pushing buttons to hear the Bear roar, have an opportunity to feel what a beaver, mink, muskrat and a few other animals coats feel like.. and Daniel was most impressed with the display of animal scat-in which he asked why we don't just call it poop..After we wandered around inside checking everything out(and driving the employees crazy pushing all the turkey/bird/bear call buttons) outside we went on a nice nature hike equipped with bridges and mosquito's!
